l.shane is going MIA

I have this really amazing talent where I like to disappear at random, so I thought I'd be courteous and at least give a fair warning before I possibly disappear for a few weeks! On May fourth, I'm moving from Southern California to Colorado Springs, Colorado. I'm sure I've mentioned it an annoying amount of times, but I just cannot wait for this new adventure. Something about California is just not for me. I'll just have to a California girl who has an intense love affair with much stormier states. I may stop in from time to time, but just do not be shocked when it's not exactly an every day thing. (Like you're ever!)

Now it's time for lots of packing, family, a wedding, and raising our amazing kitten named, Katniss! There is a very sad, but good story about her name and it goes farther then 'uh, I like the books'. But I'll get to that when I get back, with details and photographs of our lovely new home.

Until then bloggers,

First Adventure || Flashback Friday

August 2011

Once upon a time I took my first adventure, and moved away from home. I was eighteen and excited for a new life. The town it's self was not that amazing, but our apartment and our world was. Our apartment was over 100 years old, and was the perfect 'first apartment'. I'm posting these wonderful memories for my flashback friday, because in two weeks we will embark on a brand new adventure. We've grown up in Southern California, and our first adventure was Northern California, and here we are, only weeks away from our adventure to Colorado. Our new city will be Colorado Springs. I could not be more excited. A new city to explore with the guy I love more than anything.

Yesterday I also quit my day job, and I have the next two weeks to myself. All I have to worry about is packing up my room, registering my car and then we're free. By May 5th, we will be living in Colorado .

I do not think that I have ever felt so free, or so young. This is the first time in an entire year that I actually feel twenty, and not twenty years older than I should be. Cheers to a brand new life!

Sincerely,
l. shane

Oh, the lazy days || Outfit Post

You know, must to the common belief, bloggers are not dressed amazingly adorable 100% of the time. I honestly feel like the chilled out outfits are just as important as the ones that we all go out and take amazing photographs in. This day I just felt like some forest green shorts, a comfy cardigan, and some neat converse styled shoes that my Madre picked up for me at a thrift store. (And the fedora that I need to learn to take off sometimes...)

By the way, I apologize for suddenly slowing down in my productive spree. My day job is scheduling me at 38 hours a week, which is wonderful for saving money to move, but not so great when it comes to actually doing things I enjoy. I hope to be back into the swing of things soon. Day jobs are just not so great.

Happy day everyone!

Tanks & Some Of Those Owls | Thrifting Adventures

You know those days where you only have five dollars to your name, and yet you still need to do something with your day? Today was one of those days, so me and Ryan took that five dollars, went to our favorite thrift store, and now I even could say I feel accomplished. I love the tank tops I found, but really I love the owl painting we found. There is just something about two owls sharing some drinks that warms up my ol' little heart.

By the way, in a month or so Tea at Noon will be changing completely. I'm talking full blown make over. I'm waiting till we relocate to Colorado, and let the air that is sweeping off the Rockies inspire me to dive deep into what I love. I'm excited, and I hope all of you will love all the new changes as much as I'm looking forward to changing them. I'm talking consistent weekly features, teaming up with other bloggers and etsy shops for some exciting new things, and finally the DIY's I've been promising will begin to pop up. I cannot even express how excited I am for this new change in life.

stay tuned,

Violet Bella's World | Blog Admiration

These posts always balance on a line between admiration and slightly stalker-ish, either way, I think it's important to give shout outs to the bloggers that inspire us, and this lovely woman right here, is a pure bred flower child after my own heart. She is Laura from Violet Bella's World. From her amazingly eclectic hippy style, her love for the classics of rock and roll, to her honest words that show the world her soul. She is just lovely in all aspects, and not only because we share a name and a love for earthy colours.

And if her honesty and true of heart hippy style is not enough, she also has two, yes not one but two, amazing Etsy shops that are full of unique style. Roots & Feathers is my personal favorite. When I look through this shop all I can think of is how perfect it is for the music festivals and the spirit of summer. The other shop is called Violet Bella, and is filled with beautiful things. I admire how each of her shops are so certain in the style and vibe that they hold. She is just a wonderful artist who knows where her roots are, and you can feel her inspiration in each piece she creates.

Her hubby also has an incredible screen printing Etsy called Skyline Fever. Personally, I have had my eye on the flowerchild dress for ages (the one she is wearing in the second picture)! I think with this paycheck I'm going to have to buy it. It is a perfect must have for summer. All amazing shops with amazing items.

I could write more, but I will take a break on my stalker rant. Laura is just a hippy, free spirit after my own heart. Go check out her blog, and all of those wonderful shops. I can promise that you won't be disappointed.

stay tuned,
l.shane

P.S. I also have to admit that she has inspired me to get a lip piercing! Although most people in my world object, I find it adorable!

Fifteen Year Old Indians? || Flashback Friday

Dated: May 2007

I might as well get this out into the air right now, I was a weird kid in high school. I was never once popular, and never did things that were normal. To put it simply, I was the weird, awkward and shy girl who on the rare occasions that I spoke would say the weirdest things. I've never had that 'normal' act that some people are born with, then again, that would probably be boring.

Here is exhibit A of me as a teenager in high school. The girl with dark hair was also as bizarre as I was who did not go to public school. Yeah, we were those high school weirdos who would spend their time taking bizarre pictures in strange outfits, reenact and film scenes from our favorite movies, and spend hours upon hours writing a book about vampires. Yeah, we knew what was cool before Twilight.  Fun fact is, that girl is also the one who gave me my first tattoo.

Stay tuned,

By the way, on a far more serious note, the home that my baby brother is in is threatening to send him home today unless we pay $11,000 dollars. If you can even imagine, my family is incredibly in debt due to all the hospital bills that have piled up since last May. All I ask is for some prayer, or if you don't pray then some good thoughts sent our way for some solution today. Just some answer today.

Instagram Envy #Three

here goes the little sum up of my past week, which by the way I have absolutely no idea which day I 'start' on...anyway!

- The book I finished this week which was a incredible story, but then I saw the movie and was COMPLETELY devastated. But I do believe that the topic of that film could fill an entire blog post.
- Coffee with a really good friend. There are four drinks because some how she got three for the price of one. It's a talent. The best part was is that I do not think I realized how much I needed some GIRL time. I forgot how healthy that is for someone.
- A vain photograph of this post
- The desert got some incredible and surprising storms. Nothing can calm my soul more.
- A license plate that said 'Seek Art'. I really hope people read that and somehow take it to heart.
- Moccasins and enjoying our desert hills & a brilliant blue sky
- My dashing baby brother when I saw him at the hospital that other day. He seems happy, even if he hates the hospital he's in. It's nice to see him smile and for him to remember things. I miss him more than I realize.
- Some beautiful jasmine. My favorite flowers, next to Gardenias. It just helps as it reminds me that summer is near, and with that comes memories and sanity.

stay tuned,
